I could go into a long explanation of the events and thought processes that led me to reinvent myself yet again. But what’s really important, to me at least, is that I’ve decided to return to writing for myself. Not to please or incite an audience. Not to attract advertisers or sponsors. Not to solicit comments (they’re closed) or amass stats (I’m not tracking them).
I lost the joy of writing. I’m taking it back.
I’m excited to write about whatever I feel like, without any self-imposed limitations or expectations. I want to enjoy the process and the results, without regard to where I fit in the rank and file of writers. Writing isn’t simply a means to an end; it is the end I seek.
