About
Hi, I’m Julie Marsh. I’ve been writing online since August 2005. My first blog was mothergoosemouse, a traditional mommy blog. Then I started The Mom Slant, an op-ed blog with a parenting twist, in April 2009.
Now I’m going back to basics. This site is about what interests me — whatever that might be and however it might change. Comments are closely moderated, and I don’t track stats.
I’m the VP of Operations at Cool Mom Picks, a cheeky shopping blog for parents, focused on small, independent businesses and fabulous design. I’ve been with Cool Mom Picks since 2006, as a contributor, copywriter, technical editor, and Director of Advertising Sales.
I’ve written for The Imperfect Parent, The Stir by CafeMom, MamaPop, and I’m a founding member of Blog With Integrity.
I moderated the Beyond the FTC session at Mom 2.0 Summit in February 2010, and spoke as a panelist at the Storytelling and Memoir session at the annual BlogHer conference in August 2010, at the Engaging Women + Moms session at the inaugural AMP Summit in September 2010, and at the Show ‘Em You Mean Business session at the inaugural Dad 2.0 Summit in March 2012. I’m a contributor to the anthology Mothers of Intention by Joanne Bamberger, and in August 2010 I was honored by Parenting magazine as a Must Read Mom.
